World Tourism Day is an opportunity to reflect on the importance of tourism to global well-being. As people travel, they can engage with other cultures and celebrate human diversity. On this observance, people can recognize that tourism is a gateway for a more tolerant, open and united world. The event is observed on the anniversary of the adoption of the World Tourism Organization Statues in 1970.
