IHOP restaurants began National Pancake Day in 2006. Since that day, they have raised $24 million for charities. On March 12th people from around the country will once again celebrate National Pancake Day at IHOP restaurants and enjoy free pancakes. Customers can order a free short stack of their Original Buttermilk Pancakes and donate to help children battling critical illnesses. Every stack served helps the organization reach the goal of raising $5 million for local children’s hospitals and health organizations.
While National Pancake Day is something that was started by a particular restaurant chain, the idea can be used by any diner, fast food establishment or restaurant that serves breakfast menu items.
