Las Posadas, which translates to "The Inns," is a 9-day Latin American Christmas tradition that celebrates the story of Joseph and Mary trying to find a place to stay to birth baby Jesus. This has been a tradition in many Spanish-speaking countries for scores of years. It often is celebrated with pageants recreating the story of Joseph and Mary finding no room at various inns. Families and communities also make traditional foods, Christmas Eve candle processionals, as well as song and prayer.
