Designated by the General Assembly on Dec. 14, 1990, this is a day to encourage all societies to better integrate aging issues into the larger context of development. States are encouraged to do everything in their power to enable all men and women to age with security and dignity.
Seniors are an influential demographic, and more resources and attention can be directed toward the aging population. Older Person's Day is the ideal time to highlight topics about seniors, which are in abundance in the Editorial Library.
