National Stuttering Awareness Week is the second full week of May. It is a time to think about how to celebrate, educate, and spread the word about stuttering. It's also an opportunity to support people who stutter and to help find a cure through research. Finding the genes involved in stuttering and understanding what they do in people who stutter holds the promise of revealing some of the underlying causes of stuttering.
