Chances are most families have the game Scrabble in their closets or wherever they store board games. It has been a popular game since 1899 when Alfred Mosher Butts invented it. More than 150 million copies of Scrabble have been sold across the globe. It can be a great family activity, and word-building through playing Scrabble can build vocabulary and help children with literacy.
