National Pet Dental Health Month is a nationwide effort sponsored by the American Veterinary Medical Association. Periodontal disease is the most common clinical condition in cats and dogs even though it's completely preventable. Pet owners may believe the bad breath their pets exhibit is normal, but it could be an indication of poor dental hygiene, which can go on to affect overall pet health. Keeping dog's and cat's teeth clean and healthy should be a priority this month — and all year long.
