Boston Cream Pie is a delicious dessert that is more cake than actually pie. The original Boston Cream Pie was created at Boston's Parker House hotel in the 19th century. It featured sponge cake layered with cream and iced with vanilla and chocolate fondant. Many incarnations of Boston cream pie are created today, and the flavors even can be found in Boston cream doughnuts.
