National Cancer Survivors Day honors cancer survivors and recognizes the importance of family, friends and health professionals in their lives. This event always occurs on the first Sunday in June for both the United States and Canada. It serves as a celebration of life and a way to support and network with other survivors.
Although the topic of cancer is seldom one people want to bring up, awareness efforts can help shed light on common and rare forms of the disease, pave the way for research and intervention, and galvanize support efforts in communities. A cancer information section produced with the help of the Editorial Library can be a springboard for community effort and simultaneously drive ad sales for respective doctors, health clinics, pharmacies, and other health-related businesses.
