An empanada is a stuffed bread or pastry that can be baked or fried in many countries of Latin America and south of Europe. The name comes from the verb “empanar” meaning to wrap or coat in bread. Empanadas are enjoyed by many and can be filled with just about anything, although beef, pork and cod are popular options.
