January 1st, 2023
New Year's Day is January 1. The celebration of this holiday begins the night before, when people gather to wish each other a happy and prosperous coming year. Many make New Year's resolutions both on the eve and the day of this holiday. Popular resolutions include: quitting bad habits, exercising more, dieting, getting organized, and making more time for family/friends.
New Year's festivities often include parties and noise-making that begins the evening of December 31 and continues well into the wee hours of January 1. One of the more popular traditions involves watching the "ball drop" in Times Square, NYC, either on television or in person.

"First" and "last" baby announcements are popular ways to connect with the community. Who doesn't like to get a little publicity and renown? Interview those families who welcomed the last child of the previous year or the first for the new year. Use the keywords "first baby" or "baby new year" to find borders, headings and other images that can dress up new baby pages.
