Holy Week is a Christian observance from the fourth century, often known as Great Week. It comprises the seven days beginning on the sixth and final Sunday in Lent, consisting of Palm Sunday, Monday of Holy Week, Tuesday of Holy Week, Spy Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday. It is a time of solemn devotion to and memorializing of the suffering, death and burial of Christ. It is formerly a time of strict fasting.
