January 30th, 2023
In the United States, National Croissant Day is observed each year on January 30th. This "unofficial" holiday lets people celebrate this delicious baked bread. Croissants are buttery, crescent-shaped rolls that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The typical ingredients, for making the baked rolls are flour, butter, salt, sugar, yeast and water. This rich, flaky bread can be eaten for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a snack. They are enjoyed just as they are, straight out of the oven or maybe with butter on top of them.
While many people associate croissants with France, it seems their origins actually lie in Austria.
