After a trauma or life-threatening event, it is common to have reactions such as upsetting memories of the event, increased jumpiness, or trouble sleeping. If these reactions do not go away or if they get worse, a person may have Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Veterans can be affected by PTSD especially, but it may affect individuals who have been in accidents or suffered from other life-threatening instances. It's important to know that there is help available.
