Fibromyalgia is a chronic disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, and tenderness in localized areas. It affects men and women and people of varied ages. Fibromyalgia Education & Awareness Month brings awareness and legitimacy to fibromyalgia. It also aims to help people with FM have better support, more effective treatments and a better quality of life. The ultimate goal has been and continues to be that through research and education everyone can learn the causes and how to treat, prevent and/or cure fibromyalgia.
Fibromyalgia is a very real medical condition that affects thousands of people. Doctors offices and other medical centers can promote the importance of recognizing fibromyalgia so individuals can get the help and pain relief they deserve.
