SPAM is Introduced: Anniversary, 1937

Marketed as the "Meat of Many Uses" by producer Hormel Foods, SPAM debuted to the American public in 1937. After World War II SPAM grew in popularity, and eventually became known around the world. In the U.S. Hawaii eats the most SPAM out of every other state. According to Hormel, almost seven million cans of SPAM are eaten in Hawaii every year.
