National Indian Pudding Day is celebrated each November 13, but many people are unaware unless they live in the New England area of the United States. It seems Indian Pudding is a regional dessert that consists of cornmeal, molasses and milk. Even though it has "Indian" in the name, it is certainly not from India, but refers to the Native Americans who were once largely referred to as Indians across America. The Native American nod comes from the cornmeal used in the recipe, but it is decidedly an American dish.
