Individuals move their clock times back one hour at the end of Daylight Savings Time. Darkness descends earlier and earlier until the shortest day of the year — the winter solstice — upon which days will incrementally grow longer. Clocks are to be adjusted at 2:00 a.m.
When Daylight Savings Time begins and ends, it is also a good opportunity to replace the batteries in all smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in homes and businesses.
