SOS Adopted: Anniversary, 1908

November 3rd, 2024 On this date the second international radio telegraphic conference at Berlin, Germany, proposed a new wireless distress signal: SOS. After its use during the sinking of the Titanic in 1912, SOS became the standard distress signal at sea.
