Celebrate the earth's largest, most interesting and most noble endangered land animal. Did you know elephants are one of the few animals with self awareness? Like humans, apes and (bizarrely) dolphins, elephants can recognize themselves in a mirror. Which means, presumably, that they too can participate in elephant appreciation day by admiring their reflections.
