Solo Transatlantic Balloon Crossing, Anniversary: 1984

September 14th, 2024 From September 14 to 18, 1984, Joe Kittinger left Caribou, ME in a 10-story-tall, helium-filled balloon named Rosie O'Grady's Balloon of Peace. He crossed the Atlantic Ocean, and reached the French coast on the 17th, and later crash-landed in Italy on September 18. Source: firstflight.org/colonel-joe-kittinger/
