National Rosé Day

June 10th, 2024

Taking place each year on the second Saturday in June, National Rosé Day pays homage to the blushingly beautiful wine known as rosé. Rosé is a pink-hued wine that is produced from a blend of grapes. During the maceration process, the skins are removed sooner, producing a pink, rather than red coloring. While some rosé wine is made from mixing red and white wines, this is very rare. The varying shades of rosé, rather, are produced by leaving the skins in contact with the wine longer or shorter, depending on the blush color desired. Common rosé wines include White Zinfandel, Pink Moscato and White Merlot. Rosé can be fruity and sweet or dry, depending upon the grape varieties used.
