A month to promote the benefits of playing tennis, sponsored by the United States Tennis Association. It also is a platform for bringing new players to the sport.
Established in 1881, the USTA is the national governing body for the sport of tennis and is the largest tennis organization in the world, with 17 geographic sections, more than 740,000 individual members and 7,000 organizational members, thousands of volunteers, and a professional staff dedicated to growing the game.
