From 11:30 pm on December 31 to 12:30 am on January 1, the Universal Hour of Peace serves to create a step toward a war-free world. Dr. Barbara Condron at the School of Metaphysics, established the first Universal Hour of Peace on October 24, 1995. It coincided with the 50th anniversary of the United Nations and the autumnal equinox. However, the commemoration was moved to New Year's Eve, perhaps for great recognition or to capture a larger audience of participants.
