World Sauntering Day

June 19th, 2023 W.T. Rabe, created the World Sauntering Day in the 1970s at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan. Rabe established the day in response to the growing popularity of jogging. The idea behind the day was to encourage people to slow down and appreciate the world around them. Sauntering is a slow type of walking that is peaceful and jolly.
