National Food Safety Month

September

Company: National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation
Web site: http://www.statefoodsafety.com/Resources/Resources/national-food-safety-month

National Food Safety Month was created in 1994 to increase the awareness of food safety education and to help reinforce proper food safety practices and procedures. Food safety includes various things, from proper food handling to hand-washing to maintaining proper temperatures both when storing foods and cooking meals. All of these procedures are crucial steps in preventing the spread of pathogens that can make diners ill.

Food safety is important for both commercial food providers and restaurants as well as individuals at home.

Food safety is a concern at home and in restaurants. Give the public pointers on how to maintain proper food safety when preparing and serving foods. This is the time to approach area restaurants for complementary advertising and to showcase which establishments receive top marks for cleanliness and safe food handling.
