National Columnists' Day is observed each year on April 18. On this day, individuals honor all newspaper columnists and their contributions to presenting current events, world news and so much more. Columnists can be defined in many different ways: One may occupy a weekly space on a page of the newspaper. Another person may have a blog. Someone may have a regular spot in the local Patch, or be given a monthly opportunity in a local magazine. The definition of a columnist has evolved in a digital world, but there are still some classic interpretations.
