During the second week of April each year, the public pays homage to the animal control officers who are hard working and dedicated to helping pets and people in the community every day. Animal control officers help maintain public and animal safety by rounding up stray animals or reporting to the scene if a wild animal seems ill or in distress. The animal control officer needs to act quickly to get that animal and people out of harm’s way.
