Stuttering is a communication disorder in which the flow of speech is broken by repetitions, prolongations or abnormal stoppages of sounds. More than 70 million people worldwide stutter. To raise awareness and enable people to get the speech therapy they may need, the public celebrates International Stuttering Awareness Day each October 22.
