People have the right to freedom of religion or belief, freedom of opinion and expression, peaceful assembly and the freedom of association. International Day Commemorating the Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief History sheds light on fact that acts of violence often occur over differences in belief or religion. This day serves to help the public have more healthy dialog about these issues.
