August 1st - August 7th All over the world clowns will be clowning around for a good cause this week. National Clown Week was originally proclaimed as a national week by President Richard Nixon in 1971. Clowns have long been known as ambassadors of joy and goodwill, and in August people celebrate them and they give back by performing in the community.
