February 12th, 2021

Web site: http://chinesenewyear.net

Chinese New Year is often referred to a the Lunar New Year because the holiday is not only observed by "Chinese" cultures, and because the Chinese calendar is lunisolar. This is an important holiday and is also known as the Spring Festival. Celebrations traditionally run from Chinese New Year's Eve, the last day of the last month of the Chinese calendar, to the Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first month, making the festival the longest in the Chinese calendar.

In Chinese culture, oxen are known for diligence, dependability, strength and determination. Having an honest nature, oxen are strongly patriotic, have ideals and ambitions for life, and attach importance to family and work.

Chinese New Year is a large event in Chinese-driven communities, but can be enjoyed by just about anyone. Tie-in opportunities include Chinese restaurants, party stores, and community centers.
