It has often been said that everything is better with bacon. It's true that bacon can add that savory-salty flavor to many different dishes. Bacon even turns up in dessert, flavoring ice creams or hidden underneath layers of chocolate. Bacon actually dates back thousands of years to 1500 B.C. in which the Chinese were curing pork bellies with salt, creating an early form of bacon. Today it is enjoyed in many different varieties and flavor profiles.
