Spring Wedding Guide Navigates Success Through Pandemic Challenges
Sun Journal Lewiston, Maine
As wedding businesses that have spent a year struggling to stay afloat prep for better days ahead, the Sun Journal utilized their usual Spring Weddings section to address the unusual challenges facing the industry through 2020 and into 2021.
Spring Weddings combined features from the Metro Editorial Library with the Sun Journal’s own unique stories for a section with local audience and advertiser appeal. Articles included wedding trend predictions from Lewiston vendors, as well as perspectives from area officiants on how recent events have influenced couples’ marriage decisions, while much of the Metro content focused on broader wedding planning in a pandemic.
Special sections editor Nancy Fickett says their readers look forward to the variety of special sections the paper produces throughout the year, and their sales team knows which local businesses are likely to advertise based on their proven success. In spite of current challenges, this popular title’s appeal secured more than 20 ad sales in every size, as local industry advertisers position themselves for a rebound in wedding planning.
