Founded in 1890, Ogden Newspapers consists of over 40 daily newspapers, along with a number of weeklies and a magazine division. Advertising Director Lori Figurski encouraged papers to use Metro’s free holiday sections to create new revenue opportunities in 2019. Here are a few examples of how they used the sections to successfully increase holiday sales:
My Merry Christmas Coloring Book & Contest
Teams published a single coloring page with a sponsor for nine consecutive Fridays in their TV Book.

The Nashua Telegraph, Nashua, NH
Publisher Heather Goodwin Henline and her team at The Telegraph, an Ogden newspaper, use Metro services to “work smarter, not harder.”
CREATE: Henline contacted Metro ahead of the 2019 holiday season for help creating full-color versions of Metro’s 12 Days of Christmas coloring pages.
SELL: The Telegraph team created posters for each of the 12 pages with a small ad on the front and a full-page ad on the back.
PROFIT: Henline reports that the project generated as much or more revenue than a typical single special section does for The Telegraph.
