During Crime Prevention Month, individuals can commit to working on at least one of three levels—family, neighborhood or community—to drive violence and drugs from our world. It is also a time to honor individuals who have accepted personal responsibility for their neighborhoods and groups who work for the community’s common good.

Metro Ideas:
Though national crime rates continue to fall compared earlier decades, local area stats vary in individual categories, such as theft and personal property crimes. You can continue to make a difference in your community by publishing a National Crime Prevention Month section or pages both in print and on your Web site.
