Canada: Saint George's Day

April 23rd, 2022 While not a statutory holiday, those in Newfoundland and Labrador celebrate a cultural observance with Saint George's Day. As in England, St. George’s Day in Canada commemorates the Roman soldier and then Christian martyr’s life. While we might recollect his sacrifices and bravery, in Canada this three-day long weekend has also become an opportunity for families to spend quality time together.
